If you can't find the data that you need on this website, you may need to order HES data as either a tabulation or an extract.

Tabulations

A tabulation gives you the opportunity to design your own tailor-made table. It would usually present aggregate or average results of a query, from a single figure up to a complex, multi-dimensional structure with many rows, columns and sub-divisions.

Extracts

An extract contains record-level data for selected cases, showing selected information for each case. If you need many pieces of information or want sensitive data, and have appropriate computing software to handle record-level data, you may be better off with an extract.

Ordering

To order a tabulation or an extract download the appropriate pack, then complete and return it to the address given in the pack. A charge is normally made for orders; this is to cover the cost of compiling and formatting the information. Once we have received your order we will give you a no obligation quote.
