A Healthcare Resource Group (HRG) is a group of clinically similar treatments and care that require similar levels of healthcare resource.

HES has a policy of making its data as accurate as possible, so occasionally, minor in-year modifications occur to data in HES universes that are accessible to users of Online HES (the HES data warehouse). However, the Self Service area consists of the data as at the publication date and is not updated for in-year changes. Therefore, when such updates occur they may lead to minor inconsistencies between Online HES and data in the Self Service area.
