
Feedback and approval
The quality of HES data is dependent on the quality of the data that is submitted to SUS by providers.
During the year, the HES Data Quality team inform providers regarding the quality and completeness of their data, particularly where cleaning has been required during provisional HES data processing. This feedback covers any provider code mapping issues, duplicates, missing periods of data and any other specific data quality issues. Advice is given on how these issues can be corrected in SUS.
When the processing of the Annual Refresh of HES happens at the end of a year, the team seek approval from providers before running manual cleans, including the removal of duplicates and provider code mapping.
